Vacuum Forming

Vacuum Forming Plastics

Thermoforming is a general term used to define the process where by a plastic sheet is heated to a defined temperature and moulded to a desired shape using vacuum, air pressure, or a combination of both.

A wide choice of materials, colours and finishes are available and panels up to 3m x 2.5m x 1.25m can be produced. Applications are many and varied, vacuum formed parts are often used in vehicle interiors and for external panels. By combining a vacuum formed outer skin with a reinforced rigid PU backing a rigid and durable composite moulding is formed. The PU backing also allows ribs, features and fixings to be moulded in if required.
