Capital investment 2009

BI Composites has made considerable investments in injection moulding and vacuum forming equipment’

An additional 1800 tonne Demag injection moulding machine and ‘super size’ vacuum forming machine have been purchased to further enhance the companies already extensive range of processes and to increase its capacity/capability for larger products.

The capital investment means that BI Composites now has injection moulding machine capacity ranging from 35T to 1800T and vacuum forming capacity up to a working bed size of 3m x 2.5m x 1.2m.

The move comes on the back of product development opportunities and business strategy growth into other market sectors such as leisure, medical and food industries.

Commenting on the investment, Karl Kalsi, Managing Director of BI Composites Ltd, said “At BI Composites we have a strong re-investment culture, which has contributed to steady business growth over the years. This latest investment helps to expand our range of product options in the thermoplastic field.”

BI Composites has manufacturing facilities located at Cannock in Staffordshire and Halesowen in the West Midlands and supplies plastic and foam components to the automotive, off-highway, leisure and other varied industries
